Architectural Style

As it can be seen from our designs on the portfolio page we adapt our architectural style to the needs of the location. As Brighton architects our success has been built on quality of execution, sensitive design and avoiding long, costly and uncertain conflict with local authorities.

Historic buildings and their settings are unique and irreplaceable assets.  Aware owners and managers who look after them properly enrich themselves as well as their Nation. Our success is founded on professional training, qualification and experience to adapt our architectural style; sound knowledge of techniques, policies and strategies; good judgement of people; the ability to design and nurture enduring solutions. The funding of work is itself a specialist activity which we can integrate where necessary.

Conserving resources, reconditioning old fabric, adapting to people’s needs and changing lives are all part of the pleasures and rewards of working with existing buildings of any age or style.  Spending time with our clients. Creating or refining a brief through design, planning, detail and construction stages. Combining convenience, creativity and character with good value.  Inspiring confidence that what may be a once in a lifetime project will be delivered and delightful.

Harmony with an Area’s Special Character

We seek harmony with an area’s special character, whether in authentic period or modern form of architectural style.

Preston Drove - Innovative StyleOur record of success is built on sensitivity, quality of execution and avoiding long, costly, uncertain confrontation. We deal with planning authorities from strength and knowledge, extensive experience of their culture and understanding how particular policies impact on the project. DD Architects does not have a ‘house style.

We prefer to deal with planning authorities through discussion using our previous experience and understanding of how particular local and national policies might impact on the project. We use the constraints of location to influence the design, taking the clients requirements into the utmost consideration when negotiating a possible solution with the local authority.
