The clients requirement for studio space and further accommodation adjacent to this extremely important listed cottage required a very sensitive and subtle approach. Sketches were submitted to the planning department for their consideration and a pre-application meeting was set up.
As with all exemplary designs, there is a necessary requirement for an exemplary client to believe in the project and therefore enable a dream to become reality.
A grass roof was proposed to ensure the new accommodation had as little impact on the character and appearance of the listed cottage, therefore ensuring the support and eventual consent from the conservation officer and planning department.
The model was made using different thicknesses of card, balsa wood and white plasticine.
