New Building in Conservation Area

Being located on a corner site, adjacent to two victorian buildings and overlooking two busy roads required a very simple yet modern approach to ensure that the building expressed its modern age and harmonised with its neigbours in this interesting conservation area.

A version of the form and character of the adjacent building was used to define the new elevations. This was then mirrored in the second of the two overlooking elevations to bring harmony to this corner site and simplicity to the construction.

The flat roofed dormer windows were extended to the rear of the property and incorporated in the roof form to add extra well needed space to the third floor flat without dominating the minimal form overlooking the street scene. To ensure that the building stayed looking its best parklex 1000 and self cleaning glass were specified.
